Use the servo amplifiers to supply the motor with current and thereby activate it. But it can do so much more than that:

The optional bus cards allow the openness the system needs to be compatible with a wide range of controllers. The functions of the servo amplifier also alllow it to deal with almost any motor and feedback system, developing excellent control properties.
